Softball Recap: Maricopa Takes a Loss

Maricopa lost against Canyon del Oro back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Maricopa lost 15-2 to Canyon del Oro.

Alanee Calderon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Maricopa's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-1. As for Canyon del Oro, the win keeps they at an undefeated 15-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maricopa will take on Mountain View at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maricopa's pitchers better be ready for this one: Mountain View has averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Canyon del Oro, they will challenge Casa Grande at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
