Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson-Morgan Rockets vs. Carmichaels Mighty Mikes

Having just played yesterday, the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets will jump right back in to play the Carmichaels Mighty Mikes at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jefferson-Morgan will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Jefferson-Morgan saw some tournament action on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-37 victory over Bethlehem Center.

Jefferson-Morgan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jase Bedilion, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. Those 20 points gave Bedilion a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Houston Guesman, who went 7 of 14 en route to 16 points.

Jefferson-Morgan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Carmichaels had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Burgettstown with a 43-39 win on Monday. The Mighty Mikes' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jefferson-Morgan's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Carmichaels, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Jefferson-Morgan strolled past Carmichaels in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 57-41. Will Jefferson-Morgan repeat their success, or does Carmichaels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
