Sandhills Valley hadn't done well against Twin Loup recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Mavericks narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wolves 2-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win on October 2nd.

Rhayana Burns paced Sandhills Valley's offense, picking up ten kills. Burns got some help from Ellexis Hagan and her 15 assists. Burns was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Sandhills Valley moved to 6-19 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for Twin Loup, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 19 of their last 20 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-24 record this season.
