Soccer Game Preview: Nimitz vs. MacArthur

Nimitz hasn't had much luck against MacArthur recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Nimitz Cougars will square off against the MacArthur Generals at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Nimitz is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game last Friday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Spring. Even if the Cougars couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, MacArthur waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victor by a 10-2 margin over the Falcons. It was an even better day for Emily Arriazola as she scored four goals for her team.

Nimitz's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for MacArthur, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

Nimitz suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to MacArthur in their previous meeting back in January. Can Nimitz avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
