Basketball Recap: Conemaugh Valley Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory + How To Watch

Conemaugh Valley hadn't done well against Portage recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Blue Jays came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 66-56. Given the Blue Jays' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Mustangs are ranked 110th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Conemaugh Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Henry led the charge by putting up 25 points and five rebounds. The game was Henry's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lance Masser, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 17 boards.

Portage's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyson Burkett, who posted eight points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Llehson Walker, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards.

The win keeps Conemaugh Valley at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 68.2 points this season. As for Portage, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.
