Baseball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Cadence Takes a Loss

Pinecrest Academy Cadence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 17-2 to the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-1 last Monday.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Santiago Trujillo-Medina, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI. Camrith Fernandes also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Cimarron-Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pinecrest Academy Cadence will challenge rival Western at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Cimarron-Memorial is set to square off against their familiar foe Durango at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
