The Newton-Conover Red Devils will be playing at home against the Ashe County Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Newton-Conover pushed their score all the way to 76 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Hickory by a score of 78-76. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (66), Newton-Conover still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Ashe County fought the good fight in their overtime match against Mountain Heritage on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to the Cougars. Ashe County's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Their wins bumped Newton-Conover to 1-2 and Hickory to 2-0.
