Hawaii High School Football Rankings

Who's up and who's down

There wasn't a lot of overall movement in the power rankings this week, but with ten teams changing position, that doesn't mean the week lacked for thrills. That and more in this week's report.

Can't Touch This

Hilo's 42 - 13 win over Kea'au last week had a lot to do with the leadership of junior Kyan Miyasato. Miyasato tossed the ball for 296 yards and four TDs. That performance made Miyasato one of the best players in the power rankings last week.

This Week's Big Showdown

The confrontation between Kahuku (4th in the power rankings) and Campbell (5th) did not disappoint. Kahuku and Campbell were almost perfectly matched up, but Kahuku suffered an agonizing 28 - 27 defeat. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for Kahuku after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close.

Next Week's Big Game

The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Kamehameha Kapalama (6th in the power rankings) and St. Louis (1st). Both teams have their heads held high after dominating their previous opponents. Only one team will win this week, so we'll find out which team fails to repeat its success.
