Baseball Recap: Wilson Has No Trouble Against Liberty

Wilson was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Liberty on Tuesday. The Bulldogs blew past the Hurricanes 16-3. The Bulldogs have beaten the Hurricanes the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Hurricanes has come to flipping the script.

Logan Pettit looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Wilson got a massive performance out of Ryan Marmolejos, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Marmolejos a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim Lengle, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Wilson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Wilson's record is now 14-6. As for Liberty, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.

Wilson has already played their next matchup (against Kutztown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Liberty, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Allentown Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hurricanes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
