Softball Recap: Clearwater Central Catholic's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After only one run in their last game, Clearwater Central Catholic made sure to put some runs up on the board against Admiral Farragut on Wednesday. The Marauders came out on top against the BlueJackets by a score of 16-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The result was nothing new for the Marauders, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Emma Carollo and Sophia Negron did most of the damage at the plate: Carollo went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Negron went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Carollo has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kaelyn Foubister, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Clearwater Central Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Clearwater Central Catholic's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10. As for Admiral Farragut, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clearwater Central Catholic will face off against Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Admiral Farragut, they will square off against Academy at the Lakes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The BlueJackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
