League recap: Lovin dominating on the mound for Fairmont

2A/1A Three Rivers league recap: 4/3/13

Fairmont's Cole Lovin was the best pitcher in 2A/1A Three Rivers this week. Over the past week, he had one win and 12 Ks.

South Robeson outperformed the rest of the league this week, as its three total wins led the league. The Mustangs beat Red Springs 10-2.

The Golden Tornadoes' pitching staff was best in the league in terms of hits allowed, with just nine over the past week. For the entire year, Fairmont has given up only 18 base hits in seven games.

The league boasted six .400 hitters over the past week. They were led by Gage Hardin, who hit .714 this week (5-for-7).



Lovin led the Golden Tornadoes to a win on March 26, as he notched 12 strikeouts to beat the Red Devils, 10-3. Over his six innings pitched he allowed two runs on two hits.
