Willamette has gone a perfect 9-0 against Springfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Willamette Wolverines will venture away from home to challenge the Springfield Millers at 10:00 a.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Wednesday, everything went Willamette's way against Clackamas as Willamette made off with an 11-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

Macy Rush and Cabbi Eads did most of the damage at the plate: Rush scored three runs and stole Six bases. while going 2-for-3, while Eads went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Shaylee Gilbert was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Springfield gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against North Salem, sneaking past 18-16. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Millers as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Willamette took their victory against Springfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 18-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Willamette since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
