Basketball Recap: Percy Julian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wetumpka last Thursday, Percy Julian came back down to earth. The Percy Julian Phoenix came up short against the Plainview Bears on Saturday, falling 74-52. While losing is never fun, the Phoenix can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Bears are ranked 32nd).

Percy Julian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Plainview, the win (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 24-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Percy Julian has already played their next match (against Wetumpka), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Plainview will head out on the road to take on Gadsden City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
