Softball Recap: Goshen Comes Up Short

Goshen came into this matchup off a tough 18-run loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the RedHawks in their meetings with the Pilgrims/Rockies: they've now lost four in a row.

Abi Blankenship spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Goshen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Snyder, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Rachel Aceves was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Goshen's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Plymouth, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Goshen wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-7 defeat against Concord on the 16th. As for Plymouth, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Wawasee on the 16th.
