Basketball Game Preview: Westside Seminoles vs. Morgan County Bulldogs

The Westside Seminoles will face off against the Morgan County Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Westside sitting on six straight wins and Morgan County on nine.

Last Wednesday, Westside earned a 58-45 victory over Howard. Given the Seminoles' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Huskies are ranked 371st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Joshua Harden continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Rembert, who went 5 for 6 en route to 14 points.

Meanwhile, Morgan County beat Callaway 56-44 on Friday. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly 12 points.

Morgan County's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Westside, their record now sits at 16-7.

Westside came up short against Morgan County in their previous meeting back in January, falling 54-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Morgan County's Zeki Locus, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Now that Westside knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
