Basketball Recap: Paris Comes Up Short

Paris lost against Richland County back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Paris Tigers lost 51-31 to the Richland County Tigers. While losing is never fun, Paris can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while Richland County is ranked 228th).

Casey Thomann continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Richland County, going 13 of 15 on his way to 29 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rex Hallam, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 10 points.

Paris has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Richland County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Paris didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-50 win against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg on the 27th. Richland County has also already played their next game, a 55-47 victory against Monticello on the 21st.
