Basketball Game Preview: Bethany Community Wolves vs. Clover Garden School Grizzlies

Bethany Community hasn't had much luck against Clover Garden School recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bethany Community Wolves will host the Clover Garden School Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m.

Bethany Community is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 65-24 loss at the hands of Bishop McGuinness. The matchup marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clover Garden School). They were the clear victor by a 47-23 margin over Southern Wake Academy back in December of 2024. The win was familiar territory for the Grizzlies who have now won three contests in a row.

Bethany Community better keep an eye on Hanna Tickle. She was instrumental in Clover Garden School's win, putting up 28 points and seven rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Tickle has scored at least a third of Clover Garden School's points.

Clover Garden School pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.9 points per game. As for Bethany Community, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-9.

Bethany Community didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Clover Garden School when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 51-47 win.
