Baseball Recap: Langtree Charter Academy Find Success

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Langtree Charter Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Stuart W. Cramer Storm 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Langtree Charter Academy's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Barbee, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave Barbee a new career-high. Aiden Gelpke was another, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run.

Langtree Charter Academy now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Stuart W. Cramer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-7.

Langtree Charter Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they will face off against Kings Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Storm's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mountaineers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
