Mercyhurst Prep extended their winning streak to eight on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 8-0 in the process. They blew past the Starpoint Spartans 10-4. The result was nothing new for the Lakers, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Alex Manendo was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Ashton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Starpoint, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

On Starpoint's side, they got a good showing from MASON MIKULSKI, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time MIKULSKI hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, MIKE MIKULSKI made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Mercyhurst Prep has already played their next game, a 5-3 victory against Villa Angela-St. Joseph on the 21st. As for Starpoint, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-2 defeat against Grand Island on the 24th.
