Football Recap: Franklin Wildcats vs. Monterey Trail Mustangs
After soaring to 39 points the game before, Franklin was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 28-10 to the Monterey Trail Mustangs. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Franklin lost, don't look at Braylon Robinson. Despite the final result, he threw for 242 yards and one TD while picking up 10.5 yards per attempt. A healthy portion of that aerial production (119 yards to be exact) went to Caden Bowers.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monterey Trail to victory, but perhaps none more so than Odie Jefferson, who rushed for 180 yards and one touchdown. Albert Dennis was another key player, rushing for 110 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries.
Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Monterey Trail, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Coincidentally, Franklin and Monterey Trail will both be playing Cosumnes Oaks the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will host the Wolfpack at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on the 31st.
