Softball Recap: St. Pius X Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Pius X waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Highland Hornets get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. The Sartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

Aubri Hooee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hooee was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Chavez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Grace Grady, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.

St. Pius X was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in six consecutive games.

St. Pius X's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Highland, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Looking ahead, St. Pius X will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Belen at 3:30 p.m. As for Highland, they will head out on the road to square off against Atrisco Heritage Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
