Baseball Game Preview: Cleburne Yellowjackets vs. Polytechnic Parrots

The Cleburne Yellowjackets will take on the Polytechnic Parrots in a tournament on Thursday. Cleburne will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Cleburne is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Wyatt get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Saturday. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Polytechnic didn't have quite enough to beat Sunset on Saturday and fell 5-4. The Parrots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jorge Arredondo and Jonathan Parga stepped up to the plate in a big way. Arredondo scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Parga went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Cleburne pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Polytechnic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1.

Everything went Cleburne's way against Polytechnic in their previous meeting back in March of 2019, as Cleburne made off with a 12-0 win. Does Cleburne have another victory up their sleeve, or will Polytechnic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
