Volleyball Recap: Sagemont P Falls to NSU University in First Game of Season

Sagemont P unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the NSU University Sharks on Friday. The Prep were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sharks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

While Sagemont P was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into NSU University's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-14, 25-20.

NSU University was led to victory by Sloane Smith and Allyson Koury. Smith had five digs and four aces, while Koury had seven assists and five aces.

NSU University now has a winning record of 2-1.

Sagemont P will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Highlands Christian at 4:30 p.m. on September 2. As for NSU University, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Jupiter Christian on the 26th.
