Football Game Preview: Princeton Panthers vs. McKinney Boyd Broncos

The Princeton Panthers will head out to square off against the McKinney Boyd Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Princeton and seven for McKinney Boyd.

Princeton is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Prosper on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Panthers were outmatched by the Eagles and fell 59-21. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Eagles are ranked third).

Princeton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Marcus Flowers, who threw for 200 yards and one touchdown, and Dakota Lee, who rushed for 112 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for McKinney Boyd's offense. They were dealt a 63-0 defeat at the hands of Allen on Friday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Broncos were not able to get on the board.

McKinney Boyd's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Princeton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Things could have been worse for Princeton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-40 loss to McKinney Boyd in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Panthers, Nick Wesloski (who rushed for 209 yards and one TD while picking up 12.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
