The Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets will face off against the Ridgemont Golden Gophers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgemont took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cory-Rawson, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Cory-Rawson turned things around against Ridgedale on Monday. They skirted past the Rockets 10-8. The Fighting Hornets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mason Hall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has become a key player for Cory-Rawson: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least ten strikeouts, but 0-6 otherwise. Hall was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Cory-Rawson got a big performance out of Austin Inbody, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Inbody has brought in this season. Mason Fruth was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Ridgemont fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against North Baltimore on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.
Mason Woodruff was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jon Cromer, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Cory-Rawson's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Ridgemont, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
