Softball Recap: Uintah Has No Trouble Against Wasatch

Uintah was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Wasatch on Friday. The Utes were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Wasps. The win continues a trend for the Utes in their matchups with the Wasps: they've now won three in a row.

Lynlee Hall made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Uintah got a big performance out of Kayla Olson, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave Olson a new career-high. Sophia Pope was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Uintah hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wasatch struck out 12 times.

Uintah's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Wasatch, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Uintah will welcome Mountain View at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wasatch, they are taking a road trip to challenge Maple Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
