Softball Game Preview: Kasson-Mantorville Komets vs. Chatfield Gophers

The Kasson-Mantorville Komets will venture away from home to face off against the Chatfield Gophers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kasson-Mantorville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Monday, Kasson-Mantorville needed a bit of extra time to put away Byron. They skirted past the Bears 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Komets have posted against the Bears since May 2, 2019.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Chatfield was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They lost 7-1 to St. Charles. The Gophers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chatfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brittin Ruskell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Kasson-Mantorville's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Chatfield, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.
