Basketball Game Preview: Oratory Prep Rams vs. Westfield Blue Devils

The Oratory Prep Rams will face off against the Westfield Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Oratory Prep earned a 67-56 victory over Rahway. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Rams' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Indians are ranked 331st).

Meanwhile, Westfield was able to grind out a solid win over Governor Livingston on Tuesday, taking the game 59-48.

Oratory Prep is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Westfield, their victory bumped their record up to 6-14.

Oratory Prep ended up a good deal behind Westfield when the teams last played back in January of 2024, losing 60-42. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
