Basketball Recap: Belton-Honea Path Takes a Loss

Belton-Honea Path played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Westside Rams 105-18. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Westside found their leader in sophomore Khalia Hartwell, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 17 boards. With that strong performance, Hartwell is now averaging an impressive 9.5 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Asia Clinkscales, who went 7 of 14 en route to 17 points and five steals.

Belton-Honea Path's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Westside, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Belton-Honea Path wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-22 defeat against Fountain Inn on the 10th. As for Westside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-39 win against Mauldin on the 10th.
