Volleyball Game Preview: Bishop Hendricken Hawks vs. Barrington Eagles

The Bishop Hendricken Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Barrington Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Hawks fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Thursday's season opener. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Coventry on Thursday. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Oakers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Bishop Hendricken had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-18.

Among those leading the charge was Jackson Kretzer, who had ten digs and three assists.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Barrington sidestepped Central for a 3-2 victory.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Barrington who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-13.

Bishop Hendricken was able to grind out a solid win over Barrington in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, winning 3-1. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
