Volleyball Recap: Mountain View's Win Ends 12-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Mountain View lost to South El Monte back in February, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Mountain View Vikings won by a set and slipped past the South El Monte Eagles 3-2.

Mountain View was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 13-25, 15-25, 25-17, 15-10.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lexis Jacobo, who had 22 digs. Jacobo has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more digs the last nine times he's played.

Mountain View's win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7. As for South El Monte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.

Coming up, Mountain View will venture away from home to challenge Rosemead at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South El Monte, they will host El Monte at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South El Monte is facing El Monte at the right time seeing as El Monte is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
