Baseball Recap: Westminster Academy Takes a Loss

Westminster Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Orangewood Christian Rams. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Rams when the teams met back in March of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Westminster Academy got a good showing from Diego Solorzano, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Solorzano has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jorge Ferrer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Westminster Academy's record is now 6-4. As for Orangewood Christian, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Looking ahead, Westminster Academy will square off against St. John Paul II Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Orangewood Christian, they will take on Lake Highland Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
