The West Campus Warriors will square off against the Fairfield Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
West Campus will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Foothill on Monday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Mustangs. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.
Analisa Mederos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Mederos was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sophia Quiroz was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Moriah Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
West Campus hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Fairfield got themselves on the board against Valley on Monday, but Valley never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 26-0 victory. The Falcons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kaya Lanzon was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Lanzon was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Fairfield got a massive performance out of Mariah Giron, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, two RBI, and one double. Claudia Lucero was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Fairfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for West Campus, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Both West Campus and Fairfield just can't seem to miss. The Warriors have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Fairfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Campus was able to grind out a solid win over Fairfield in their previous matchup back in March, winning 8-5. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
