Basketball Recap: Potter-Dix Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Layton Mossberg and Landon Gasseling

Potter-Dix was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The matchup between them and the Peetz Bulldogs didn't end well, with the Potter-Dix Coyotes falling 64-48. The Coyotes lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 85-38 score last time.

Potter-Dix's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Landon Gasseling, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 13 points, and Layton Mossberg, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 14 points. The dominant performance gave Mossberg a new career-high in points.

Peetz's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rhyder Bayne led the charge by putting up 21 points and six boards. Bayne is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Connor Schumacher was another key player, earning 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Potter-Dix's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Peetz, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Potter-Dix has already played their next game, a 59-54 defeat against Arthur County on the 14th. As for Peetz, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 78-39 loss against Otis on the 13th.
