Softball Recap: Minersville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Weatherly last Thursday, Minersville came back down to earth. The Battlin' Miners came up short against the Williams Valley Vikings on Wednesday, falling 8-1. The Battlin' Miners haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Minersville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Cruz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Payton Frantz also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Minersville's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Williams Valley, their record now sits at 9-1.

Looking ahead, Minersville will challenge Pottsville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Williams Valley, they will face off against Upper Dauphin Area at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
