Baseball Game Preview: St. Bede Bruins vs. Seneca Fighting Irish

For the second straight game, St. Bede will face off against Seneca. The Bruins will take on the Fighting Irish at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Bede has eight straight wins, Seneca has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

St. Bede's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Seneca by a score of 4-0.

Not much got past Alan Spencer, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Seneca off the board. Spencer has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, AJ Hermes was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Gus Burr also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

St. Bede's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Seneca, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-20.
