Baseball Recap: Aztec Comes Up Short

Aztec lost against Montezuma-Cortez back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Aztec took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montezuma-Cortez.

Aztec saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Ray, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double. That double marked the first that Ray hit this season.

Aztec has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. Montezuma-Cortez pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
