Basketball Recap: Bryan Takes a Loss

Bryan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They took an 80-61 bruising from the Creighton Prep Junior Jays. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 56-49 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Bryan still got an impressive performance from Kaleb Kimble, who went 6-for-13 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Kimble a new career-high in boards. Keyon Williams was another key player, going 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points.

Creighton Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Bohnet, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Bohnet is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Shelden Golliday also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Bryan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-22. As for Creighton Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-6.

Coming up, Bryan will challenge Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Creighton Prep, they will take on Burke at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Creighton Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.9 points per game this season.
