Basketball Recap: Logan Young's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Floyd Central over Heritage Hills

Floyd Central lost against Heritage Hills back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Highlanders fell 52-44 to the Patriots. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Floyd Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Logan Young, who shot 86% from the field on his way to 12 points. Another player making a difference was Landon Reed, who posted 11 points.

Heritage Hills got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Prior out in front who went 8-for-12 to rack up 20 points along with six boards and five assists. Thanks to that strong game, Prior now owns an excellent 42.4% three-point shooting accuracy. Peyton Gray was another key player, shooting 46% from the field en route to 19 points and eight rebounds.

Floyd Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Heritage Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Floyd Central is taking a road trip to challenge Providence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage Hills, they have already played their next game, a 56-49 win against Mt. Vernon on the 16th.
