After a string of four wins, Lake Zurich's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Libertyville Wildcats by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

Lake Zurich's loss came despite strong showings from Malia McManus and Ella Elsen. McManus had 14 digs and two aces, while Elsen had nine assists and two aces. McManus is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Lake Zurich's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Libertyville, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 25-6.

Coming up, Lake Zurich will face off against Saint Viator at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Libertyville, they will head out on the road to take on Palatine at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
