Basketball Recap: Maui Comes Up Short

Maui was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. 2025 welcomed they with a 72-47 loss courtesy of the Baldwin Bears. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sabers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-28 back in December of 2024.

Maui's record is now 2-7. As for Baldwin, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maui will square off against Kamehameha Maui at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Baldwin, they will be playing at home against Lahainaluna at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
