Volleyball Game Preview: Waukegan Bulldogs vs. Lake Forest Scouts

The Waukegan Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Lake Forest Scouts at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Forest took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Waukegan, who comes in off a win.

Waukegan took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Northside. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Waukegan took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Lake Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cristo Rey St. Martin.

While Lake Forest was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23.

Waukegan's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Lake Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.

Waukegan beat Lake Forest 2-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Scouts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
