The Mishicot Indians will square off against the St. Mary Catholic Zephyrs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Mishicot will be strutting in after a victory while St. Mary Catholic will be coming in after a defeat.
Mishicot took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Hilbert as they made off with a 10-3 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven runs or more this season.

Brogan Wasurick made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Mishicot is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-5 otherwise. Wasurick was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Eli Skarda was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Mishicot is undefeated when Skarda posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Camden Fick, who earned one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, St. Mary Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Reedsville on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
St. Mary Catholic saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Pirillo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
St. Mary Catholic's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-3. As for Mishicot, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mishicot has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Mary Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mishicot skirted past St. Mary Catholic 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Zephyrs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
