Baseball Recap: Kearns Takes a Loss

Kearns lost against Murray last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Kearns came up short against Murray, falling 7-1. The defeat leaves the Cougars still looking for their first win of the season.

Daymin Ward was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Bostyn Ward also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Kearns' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Murray, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 6-0-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Kearns will face off against rival Granger at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Murray is set to take on their familiar foe Cyprus at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Murray 1.7, Cyprus 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
