Softball Recap: Elk River Comes Up Short

Elk River lost against Anoka back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Elks took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tornadoes.

Lily Backman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Avalyn Beck was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Elk River's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Anoka, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elk River will welcome St. Michael-Albertville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Anoka, they will take on St. Anthony Village at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
