Basketball Game Preview: Oakridge Eagles vs. Montague Wildcats

The Oakridge Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Montague Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Montague likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, Oakridge was fully in charge, breezing past Potter's House Christian 68-40. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Pumas are ranked 553rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Montague was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 65-38 defeat at the hands of Mason County Central.

Montague's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Oakridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Oakridge against Montague in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 77-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
