Preview: Evergreen Cougars vs. Skyview Wolverines
Evergreen is 3-0 against Skyview since October of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Evergreen Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Skyview Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Skyview took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Evergreen, who comes in off a win.
Evergreen can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They put the hurt on Littleton with a sharp 29-7 victory.
Evergreen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Solomon Bentrott, who rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Skyview had to settle for a 28-25 loss against Wheat Ridge on Friday.
Loss or not, Skyview got some senior leadership from Che Brown who picked up 152 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Bryson Gutierrez who threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt.
Finally capturing their first victory of the season, Evergreen advanced to 1-6. As for Skyview, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Everything came up roses for Evergreen against Skyview when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 61-6 victory. Will Evergreen repeat their success, or does Skyview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
