Basketball Game Preview: Wharton Tigers vs. Brazosport Exporters

The Wharton Tigers will face off against the Brazosport Exporters at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Wharton came up short against Bay City on Tuesday, falling 60-37. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Blackcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Brazosport's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to El Campo on Tuesday. Brazosport blew past La Marque 76-28. The Exporters have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Wharton better focus on containing Deja El-Amin and Sanii Player as the pair were huge in Brazosport's win. El-Amin dropped a triple-double on 28 points, ten rebounds, and 11 steals, while Player posted 31 points. El-Amin's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eshanti Green, who had 13 points.

Brazosport's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Wharton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.
