Baseball Recap: Northside - Jacksonville Takes a Loss

Northside - Jacksonville had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-17 to make it four. They lost 10-0 to the D.H. Conley Vikings. If the Monarchs were looking for revenge after losing 13-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Northside - Jacksonville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Mayhew, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for D.H. Conley, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.

On D.H. Conley's side, the team relied heavily on Hunter Layton, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Layton has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Winfield, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Coming up, Northside - Jacksonville is taking a road trip to take on J.H. Rose at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rampants' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Monarchs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for D.H. Conley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Bern at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
