Baseball Game Preview: Cottage Grove Lions vs. Sweet Home Huskies

Cottage Grove is 2-8 against Sweet Home since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lions will host the Huskies at 4:30 p.m. The last three games Cottage Grove has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Saturday, Cottage Grove didn't have quite enough to beat Harrisburg and fell 9-8.

Landon Vaughn was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Cooper, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Meanwhile, Sweet Home posted their closest win since April 4, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past Siuslaw 6-4. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Cottage Grove's loss dropped their record down to 4-4-1. As for Sweet Home, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
